Rabbi Fuchs in the News

Rabbi Fuchs was humbled and honored to be invited by Pastorin Ulrike Wolfhärt and the area-wide Probst, Dr. Kurt Rieke to share some thoughts and offer a blessing to Ulrike at her installation as Pastor of the Lutheran Evangelical Church in Brokstedt, Germany this past Sunday.

Rabbi Fuchs delivering the Six-Pack sermon in Bordesholm, Germany. He spoke about the importance of preserving and providing abundant clean water around the world. It is called a Six-Pack because the service has six parts: singing, drama, action activity, prayer, iPunkt message and eating together.  iPunkt is a quick, hopefully, hard-hitting message addressing the theme of the service.

The President of the City Council of Kiel, Hans-Werner Tovar (center) and the Head of International Relations for the City, Martina Hansen (right) spent over an hour meeting with Wolfgang Henke, (left), Vickie and Rabbi Fuchs today. Mr. Henke, a teacher, has been instrumental in bringing the exhibit about Vickie’s mother, Stefanie Steinberg, to Germany.

The purpose of the meeting was to express support and appreciation for the Rabbi and Vickie's work and to explore ways to expand it.

A Teaching Moment

Picture

This article appeared June 8, 2017, in the Kiel daily paper about the lessons Vickie and Rabbi Fuchs taught yesterday to tenth graders at the Max Planck Schule.
Repeatedly in the Bible, it is the woman who 'gets it' and the man who is clueless. Eve has been maligned for generations for the supposed fall of man, when in fact; she is the heroine of the elevation of humanity. ~
